Strange/Funny Stuff

Since seeing it documented on TV in NZ, I have wanted to stay at the Ice Hotel in Kiruna, Sweden for a long time. In additional we decided to make to the most of our time there and try our hand at dog sleging, snow mobiling, igloo building and ice fishing.

One of the local Sami people given us a short talk about indigenous reindeer herders that live in the lapland region.
Rudolf perhaps, nope no red nose. Blizten maybe.
Alaskan Husky number 1.
Back in the kennel.
Chained up at the wilderness lodge after a hard days mushing.
Ready to go.
The first wilderness hut that we stayed at. No indoor toilets, running outside in the middle of the night in -20 celcius was an experience.
Drilling holes in the ice for fishing.
Arctic Anglers Association.
Sure there are some fish down there somewhere.
Building the igloo.
Gemma loading snow onto the igloo.
Hollowing out the inside.
Getting stuck in.
Sunset across the lake near the wilderness hut.
The second wilderness hut, where we stopped on the overnight trip with the dogs.
The view across the lake.
Mushers Logde the home base.
